Let the weekend commence!

May 29, 2009 at 10:19 pm (Daily Ramblings)

I left work a little early to avoid too much traffic on a rainy Friday, had to stop in Mtown to pick up my dress for my sisters wedding in August, and then of course I had to stop and feed my addiction of caffeinated bevarages and I stopped at Starbucks on my way out of Mtown! I have been having a hard time with some family things with my mom and it just eats me up, I’m not going to air it our here now, maybe in time…but you get the gist that I it eats at me and it upsets me…

So I come home and I feed Chevy and Izzie and sit down to roam the World Wide Web, and Chevy does this:

“Mommy I love you”

Every time I sit down and open the computer to start doing whatever, he ALWAYS lays right on top of me or the computer so that I can’t do anything until he’s satisfied that I’ve paid enough attention to him! I have to shove him to the right to do anything! It sometimes is annoying but it also sometimes makes my heart melt! He is so cute! I thought I would share on last thing before the weekend!!

A Question for you?

May 28, 2009 at 10:55 pm (Daily Ramblings)

Ok, I’m having a particularly crazy week so I thought I’d let everyone guess what I’ve been going through this week in a multiple choice format!! HAHA, this feeds my inner-teacher.

Which of the following happened to me this week:
A. Work is crazy, even though it’s supposed to be slow because it is the end of the month
B. I have so many mosquito bites on my feet and ankles that I look like a crack addict who shoots up in his feet veins
C. I learned that another person in my family won’t be able to make it to M. and my wedding because of this effing economy
D. M. has made dinner so far every night this week and I feel like a flaming ass hole that has no domestic qualities at all!
E. All of the above

And the answer is…..E!

Work sucks because an application was taken away because of audit purposes but it was taken away in the complete opposite way that it was told to me (if that makes sense). I, stupidly, went to a BBQ on Saturday as you may have read in the weekend-wrap up this week wearing my cute long shorts a t-shirt and flip-flops, cute, fun, BBQ attire! NOT.SO.MUCH! I now have 23 mosquito bites on my feet and ankles combined!! I even have some on my flippin toes! My Grandma just told me that my Aunt on my mom’s side and her husband and kids won’t be able to come to our wedding because of the economy. And to top my week off, M. has been patiently dealing with the fact that I received my first Jen Lancaster book in the mail (Bitter is the New Black) and I can’t seem to put it down! So he cooks, and he even cleans up (in a man way, nowhere near my standards so our apartment is a disaster area until I can clean it this weekend. Unfortunately this weekend may not be the easiest time to pencil in the foreboding cleaning as we have to meet with the potential photographer for our wedding and nail down some logistics with the director at our ceremony/reception venue!

Thank God it’s almost Friday and it’s payday because I have $4.53 to my damn name!

Thought of the Day

May 26, 2009 at 7:03 pm (Thought of the Day)

I wish I could just scream “Chew with your gawddamn mouth closed” in my office, because honestly I don’t get why it’s important to SMACK with every effing bite you take?

Is it so difficult to spell check or grammar check when you type. I can not competently respond to you if I don’t freaking know what you want in the first place! DAYUMM!

Long Weekend Wrap-Up

May 26, 2009 at 5:47 pm (Daily Ramblings)

I apologize ahead of time this is longer then usual because, well, it was a LONG weekend! ! HAHA! I crack myself up!

Friday: I got out of work early (1 pm) because of the holiday on Monday! I love my job, have I mentioned that lately? No, well I did now! On my way home I dropped my car of to M. at his job so he could do the oil change and maintenance stuff to it, and I picked up his car and went on my way home. While dropping my car of M. asked if I would go pick up slushies for him and his co-worker, I whined delightfully declined as I was not feeling well. I went home and sat my ever-growing behind on the couch and watch a combination of wife swap, lmn movie, Dr. Phil, and Oprah all afternoon. Until, a funny thing happened, I got a craving for ice cream:

Called M. “Hi honey, I decided to go out and get you guys slushies after all what kind do you want?”

“Really? Great, lemon-lime. Love you bye.”

I know some may view this as doing a good deed with a selfish intent but hey the man got his damn slushy ok? At that point I would have given my left boob to have ice cream to soothe my throat! I dropped off the goods and went home to eat my “Wet walnuts” in peace and to continue my palooza of shitty television. “RING RING” (thats my cellphone if you were curious)

“Babe, where are you?” M. asks.

“I’m at home, where else would I be?” I reply, knowing he is going to ask me to leave the house and do something for him or bring something to him.

“I got oil all over myself and it’s starting to soak through my clothes and since I have your car I didn’t want to come home and get your car all greasy, anyway can you bring me a change of clothes?”

“UGH….What would you do if I wasn’t at home at this point? Yes I’ll be there in a minute.”

“Love you!”

“Yea yea, bye.”

He was indeed really oily and we avoided the disaster that would’ve been my car had he come home in those clothes! M. got home from work we went out to Applebees and had a yummy dinner. After dinner we stopped at Best Buy to look at laptops and met a friend who works there and started talking. A. (the friend who works at best buy) showed us some good deals and long story short I ended up buying a laptop and leaving it there to pick-up on Saturday and M. was a bit upset about money the rest of the night!

Saturday: I ran ALL of M.’s errunds because I knew that would hopefully redeem my purchase of said laptop the night before. And I picked up my laptop and OMG it was gloriously fast and unbelievably awesome when I signed on without a problem plugged in our wireless code and VAVOOM in three second I had pulled up facebook, checked my blog stats, and was on my way to checking my email!! YAHOO! Ok, I’m back…sorry I got lost in the infinite joy of new technology! We pretty much laid around and was lazy the entire day on Saturday, which all in all was perfect.

Sunday: We got the circular for our grocery store and they were having a HUGE buy 1 get 1 FREE sale. Not buy 1 get 1 half off, buy 1 get one effing FREE!! Needless to say we were there a week earlier then scheduled and ended up getting a couple weeks worth of meat and such extra for the same price we usually spend!! EFFING AWESOME!! Not so awesome is that I am maxed out and can not purchase another thing except the liquid gold my car depends on to get my ass to work! It was so worth the savings! We got home from the store and went next door to an improptu BBQ that was SO MUCH fun!! We stayed for like 6 hours or something like that and a blast was to be had by all!

Monday: We went to E.’s BBQ (the friend I used to go to the gym at 4 am with, I no longer go but thats another post) for a couple of hours, and then we told A. (friend at Best Buy) that we would hang out with her and her boyfriend that night. So we went and got ice cream with A. and M. and then we came back to our house for another impromptu cookout with fresh corn and hotdogs! My house was a mess and I was completely embarassed about it, but hey they didn’t mind so much! True friends, no? That about sums up our entire weekend. We had a ton of fun and we got to completely relax and spend a butt-load of time together! It was most difficult to wake up and get to work this morning, but I did and I am a stronger woman for it!

Hey at least it’s not Monday! It’s Tuesday…one day closer to Friday then if it were Monday! I know you love my wisdom!

Movie Review (s)

May 25, 2009 at 4:19 pm (Movie Review)

First Up:

Valkyrie: Tom Cruise stars in a gripping movie based on a true story trying to over-throw Hitler during his reign of terror in Germany and other places during the war. At first the movie started a little slow and I admit, I didn’t really want to sit through it so I took a shower and cleaned up a little around the house, until I started to actually WATCH the movie and I got drawn in on the reality of what the movie was about. It is very gripping and even though you kind of “know” how it ends because it is based on a true story it is very eye opening and a great movie to show that not all soldiers agreed with Hitler, Nazis, and SS soldiers.

Second Up:

Role Model: Believe it or not I picked out this movie because it looked hilarious in the previews. I have to admit it had me and M. rolling at some parts and actually was a good movie overall. Seann William Scott and Paul Rudd play in this movie of two men who get into trouble and have to ful-fill community service or go to jail. They obviously choose community service and they decide to mentor a couple of kids. The kid Sean William Scott mentors is funny and crude, and had me completely snorting like I’ve never snorted before. Paul Rudd mentors a teenager who plays in role playing medieval time games and eventually they all grow a friendship after the proverbially slip up on both mentors! I won’t ruin it, but it is a movie to see, great comedy and interesting story!

Happy Memorial Day!

Please help…

May 24, 2009 at 1:09 pm (My heart is breaking)

I was strolling through blog land on my wonderful new (very fast) laptop and came across Manic Mother she just found out that her son has acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and it absolutely broke my heart. I am not a mother yet, but I absolutely CANNOT imagine what it feels like to have a healthy son one day and then all of that comes crashing down with one spider bite. I usually don’t bring up the charities that I contribute to, because I donate in peace without anyones opinion on why I should/shouldn’t donate. This is different, her family is barely making it as is, and needs a car to transport their beautiful son to and from the hospital, not only that but because they NEED to update some things in their home to make it LIVEABLE it is going to cost some money. So if you have not donated yet this year, or if you have anything to spare (which I know is difficult) please spare it for this lovely family. Also if you don’t have anything to spare, please stop by her website and read about her experience and then post about it to make sure everyone who can can donate! Thank you.

Movie Review

May 22, 2009 at 8:56 pm (Movie Review)

Ok…here is another edition of my lame, uneducated oober awesome movie review!

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past:

Although Matthew McConaughey is freaking gorgeous this movie was a bit predictable (as Jennifer from J and J Acres noted in the comment on this post.) The movie started with showing how MM acts in his day to day life as a photographer/womanizer! Then he has to go to his brothers wedding and be the best man where he is caught up in the memories of his former “love.” Although he doesn’t think it was love until at the end of the movie. He is visited by three ghosts (as the title implies) the first ghost is absolutely hilarious! The second ghost I don’t remember much, obviously didn’t make much of an impact, and the third ghost is silent and a little creepy. The ending is somewhat predictable but all in all a good movie with hot guys trickled throughout!! I would suggest waiting until this comes out on video as it is not worth the $10 and predictable $20 on drinks and popcorn!

*this post comes to you by my crappy laptop…that seems to be working at the moment

Absolute Random(ness)

May 22, 2009 at 3:35 pm (Daily Ramblings)

I am going to start by saying please don’t be offended by the lack of structure in the upcoming paragraphs. My mind is a bit jumbled and going back and forth, therefore; I believe this post will more then likely reflect my actual thinking process.

I am sitting at work where I do my best thinking, obviously I do better thinking while driving my ridiculously long commute but we all know I shouldn’t be doing a post on the road. We get out at 1 today because of the approaching holiday weekend, sweet tits I’m excited! It is 11:30 I’ve already gone to the cafeteria (paid and OBSCENE amount of money on half a tuna sandwhich and some pudding), ate my lunch, and am completely ready to go home. I know you’re asking, but Courtney you are ALWAYS ready to go home, to which I say BOTH of my bosses are gone, I got a KILLER parking spot because no one is at work today, so I am pretty perplexed about the fact that I sit here with nothing to do and why, because I have a conscience!

This weekend should be very relaxing and I am excited to be able to say on Sunday: “DAMN SKIPPY I have a whole ‘nother day to sit and do abso-fucking-lutely nothing!” Obviously I will post the weekend wrap-up on Tuesday because it is a long weekend, and my laptop is still on the fritz. And because my fiance is very money aware I doubt we will be able to get a cheap laptop which I am lobbying for at the moment. Of course my laptop started to go downhill the effing minute I actually own the damn thing. I procurred this laptop when I started college and it was technically “College Property” until I graduated and my loans started coming in. So first my battery completely went, then I started getting virus after virus and wouldn’t you know my anti-virus is not paid for anymore! We use the free anti-virus as we saw fit and things were looking up. But right about the time I started to think “things are looking up for this pathetic excuse for technology” and we got a fucking trojan virus. Now if I wish to check facebook (not available at work) it takes a good 5 minutes to load one damn page! I am hoping M. will concede to getting a laptop for $500 and under which is completely do-able. I have a best-buy credit card with like a $1,200 dollar limit, and I could so do a $50 payment a month for 0% interest!! I hope, hope, hope that we will be stimulating the economy at our local best buy this weekend. PLUS this is memorial day weekend so there should be killer sales this weekend!

On a brighter note, I shouldn’t have to battle traffic today as I am leaving at 1!!! Hopefully I’m not jinxing myself by saying so!

Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone!

Movie Reviews

May 20, 2009 at 4:13 pm (Movie Review)

Since I enjoy movies and watching as many as possible whenever I possibly can on the weekends, I though I would start a new segment of Move Reviews. Anyone who cares to can see what I think about a movie, I will not spoil the movie but I will give my opinion! First up is a movie I saw recently:

Marley & Me:

While I loved the concept of the movie, and how quickly Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson’s life moved in the movie, I don’t think this is a perfect family movie. As most of you have heard the ending is fairly sad and unless you want an impromptu lesson about life stacked on to the drive home I would have waited to watch this one at home and after viewing making a decision about whether or not to show the kiddos. I like how the families life was not drawn out and you didn’t feel stuck on one part of their life for too long, overall it was a great tear jerker!

Coming soon…my better reviews of Ghosts of Girlfriends Past and some black and white classics!

Thought for the day…

May 19, 2009 at 6:35 pm (Thought of the Day)

Always be happy with what you have and not upset about something you don’t have! Life is short, always count your blessings and make sure that you are thankful for them, because they can be taken away very easily!!
